Viking 'WOW' Day
Year 5 - September 2023
What a great Viking Day Year 5 had on Tuesday 5th September! We all loved it!
'The History Guy', from primary History Workshops, came in to share his knowledge with us. The workshop was outstanding with many hands-on activities: metal detectors to search for buried artefacts, shield work, battle formations, trying on clothing and armour, handling swords and spears, playing kubb, translating rune messages, archery as well as exciting storytelling.
We used the workshop as a Wow day to kick off our Viking topic and the children couldn’t wait to get started with their learning.
