Our Eco Council
The Eco Council consists of 12 class representatives - one from each class.
Children nominate themselves and their peers vote anonymously to pick a rep.
The reps are elected once per year.
The Eco Council’s aim is to make The Thomas Coram Church of England School more sustainable by reducing its energy use and increasing the amount of recycling carried out.

Some initiatives we take part in:
- Big Walk & Wheel - encouraging people not to drive to school.
- Class Recycling - each class has it's own recycling bin to encourage correct waste disposal.
- Light monitors - our Eco Council are always checking for lights on that don't need to be!
- School Cycled Plastic Collection - we collect bottle tops and send them off to be made into recycled furniture for our school.
- Litter Picking - keeping our school and the local area free from rubbish!
- We have been awarded a distinction for the Green Flag Award, which demonstrates our commitment to sustainability and environmental learning in our school - this is something we are very proud of!
