If you could talk to your pet, what would you say?

This Week
I want to start by saying a HUGE well done to all of our incredible Year 6 children! They have been absolute superstars this week and I could not have asked for a better cohort - you have taken it within your stride, been resilient superstars and given each test this week, your all. As I already said, SATs are great for us to check the progress made, but they do not measure your greatness or individuality. You are all superstars no matter what! Also I want to say a huge well done to Team TC staff for all their help supporting the children from when they started with us in Year 3 up to this week with our SATs breakfast, the children wouldn't be as ready if it wasn't for you so thank you. I don't have much news this week as have been busy with SATs but we did have an excellent whole school Joe Wicks session in the hall yesterday, to celebrate Mental Health Week and was great to take part in a fitness challenge together! Please don't forget the Smart Phone Free Talk on Tuesday at 7pm other schools have found it incredibly helpful and I'm sure we will too. Please fill in the link as to whether you are attending or not: Mobile Phone Talk with Mr Roberts Tuesday 19th May  – Fill in form

🚮The JFoTC Litter Squad is inviting every child at TC to take part in a one hour sponsored litter pick over half term! 🌳

Doing something to make a real difference in our local community. It’s not just about tidying up, it’s about showing the kids the impact they can have.

Every pound raised will go towards litter picking equipment, sustainability tools, plants and outdoor equipment for the school. Forms are being given out today to kids who'd like to get involved. If it doesn't happen to make it home and you'd like to take part, just drop Sara a note through the JFoTC questions group and she'll forward it on: https://chat.whatsapp.com/BIGjhRKO1Kt3l7gajTyoD1?mode=gi_t

🧁And our regular end of half term donut sale is being stocked and run by another group from the JFoTC Bake Squad. We look foward to tasting their homebaked goods next Friday at the end of school.🍪

 Important Information

Save the date - Smart Phone Free Talk and Q and A session

Mr Roberts, Assistant Head at Ashlyns, will be coming to TC on Tuesday 19th May, to do a workshop with Year 5 in the day alongside some Ashlyns students about smart phone useage. He will then come back to TC at 7pm, to do a parent workshop on children being smart phone free and the barriers and dangers smart phones entail. There will also be time for a Q and A during this session. The session will be around 60 - 90 minutes long. He has already done this in Bridgewater and Greenway and it was a big success, so I am hoping it will be useful to our parents and as many people as possible will attend.

Census Day Menu Thursday 21st May 2026

Red - Beef Burger

Green - Breaded Bean & Vegetable Grill

Purple - Breaded Chicken Burger

Yellow - Egg Mayo Baguette

Blue - Jacket Potato

Walk to School Week

Next week is Walk to school week! The Eco team are encouraging all Thomas Coram families to walk, cycle or scoot to school as part of our Modeshift Active and Safer Travel plan. Park and stride also counts so if you can't walk all the way, please consider parking 5 minutes away from school and walking the last part with your children.

We hope as many families as possible will be able to take part and support this sustainable travel initiative.
