What does it mean to be rich?

This Week
We have had a quiet week this week without our lovely Year 6's. Year 6 have had a fab time at PGL and have made so many incredible memories and I am looking forward to them being able to share all of their exciting memories and opportunities with you. A huge thank you to the staff who accompanied them, without them these trip could not take place! The rest of the school have been getting stuck in with their learning and I have been doing lots of teaching which has been great for me to get to know the children, particularly in Year 3 - I now have Gambia's names mastered, just need to master SA and Madagascar now! I hope everyone has a lovely relaxing weekend and I look forward to seeing you all on Monday.
Worship
This week, we had Father Stuart lead worship on Monday about Adam and Eve and whether our choices are good choices to make. On Tuesday, Miss Minter and Mrs Randall led singing assembly Cotton Eye Joe body percussion, with an excellent new potential school song - Proud to be Part of our School and ending with The Candy Man! Today we celebrated our Values in Action.

Ticket sales for the Family WhoDunnit close at 10pm this Sunday.

Spaces are getting tight! Crack on, you’ll be gutted if you miss it….

Don’t worry about getting a team; we’ll sort you out on the night with some other great people.

⭐️ Volunteer Superstars ⭐️

This is who we’re celebrating this week:

⭐️ Alli Bostedt has agreed to lead a crafting group ⭐️

Our plan is to make stock to be sold at the Berko Market in December.

If this is your thing, we need you! Please join the FoTC Craft Group to get involved.

⭐️ Mrs Randall has agreed to run the Yr3 and Yr4 School Disco ⭐️

We need 6 adults to chaperone on the night (9th October, 3.30pm – 5pm).

Want to get your John Travolta on whilst doing you bit? Let us know.

Tickets for the event (let’s face it, great extra childcare without us having to do anything) here:

We still need volunteers for the adults-only murder mystery dinner in November…Sophie Sturgeon, our very own Hollywood Casting Director (true fact) is leading this for us and needs  volunteers to pull off a brilliant event. Your thing? Here you go:

Did you know FoTC is an equal opportunities organisation?

You might notice a slight gender skew to our volunteers…come on men, where are you!?!

If you’d like to know how you can help, get in touch with Sara 07717516069 and she’ll give you a job 😘

More next week!

Shout if you have any questions, comments, £15k to handover….

ASC Admin and Payments

We would like to let families know that this was Mrs Allen's last week at the Federation. We are very grateful for all her hard work and the care she has shown to our children, and we wish her every success. Mrs Allen is taking some time away to travel around Australia and is very excited about this big adventure.  If you can continue to send any queries to the Wraparound email and the office will help you, while we are in the process of recruiting.

We would also like to remind families that bookings for After School Club are non-refundable, except in exceptional circumstances. As staffing and resources are arranged based on bookings made, we are unable to offer refunds for cancellations that do not meet our exceptional circumstances criteria.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Community Information

In a world of screens, it’s important to find things that give children the chance to focus. St Peter's Choir provides the chance to develop teamwork and other skills. St Peter’s Church is inviting children in years 3 – 6 for a day of singing and fun. Over the course of the day, they will have the chance to learn some songs and find out about being a chorister at Berkhamsted’s parish church. The day will end with a short concert, in which they’ll appear alongside existing members of the choir. No previous experience is required, just a good singing voice and bags of enthusiasm!

20MPH Consultation for Berkhamsted and Northchurch

Hertfordshire County Council is currently running a public consultation on proposed additional 20mph speed limits in Berkhamsted and Northchurch.  Parent feedback is particularly valuable. The consultation aims to gather views on where lower speed limits may be appropriate to improve safety, encourage walking, wheeling and cycling, and reduce traffic noise.

The consultation is available at 20mph programme in Hertfordshire | Hertfordshire County Council and closes on Sunday 4 October 2026.
