This Week
I was stood on the gate on Wednesday morning and afternoon looking around and thinking how lucky we are! I know I say this all the time, but life is tricky for many people and those small moments of ae and wonder really do make a difference - on Wednesday the sun was shining, the children were happy and running through the gate, saying have a lovely evening and I genuinely felt that we have such an incredible community and seeing that really does make me so proud and thankful for all we have! Some exciting news, Miss Dunn is pregnant and expecting her second baby in September, congratulations to Miss Dunn and her partner. After May half term, I will email out about staffing arrangements and hopefully by the second or third week in June, I will be able to email about who your child's new class teacher is. On Tuesday, we had an exciting visit from the athlete and the children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the workshop - well done to all of the children who raised money for the event. On Wednesday, we welcomed our Year 4 parents in for a times table event - thank you to everyone who attended. I also want to wish the best of luck to our parents who are running the marathon on Sunday - good luck from all of Team TC! You will be amazing!!
Worship
On Monday, Father Stuart led worship on Luke 24:13 - 35. On Thursday, I led a Picture News worship and we looked at you can try anything at any age as the lady running the marathon at 82 proved! We spoke about having that resilience and that strength to try new things and not to be afraid.  Today, we celebrated all of the children demonstrating our values.

 Important Information

Save the date - Smart Phone Free Talk and Q and A session

Mr Roberts, Assistant Head at Ashlyns, will be coming to TC on Tuesday 19th May, to do a workshop with Year 5 in the day alongside some Ashlyns students about smart phone useage. He will then come back to TC at 7pm, to do a parent workshop on children being smart phone free and the barriers and dangers smart phones entail. There will also be time for a Q and A during this session. The session will be around 60 - 90 minutes long. He has already done this in Bridgewater and Greenway and it was a big success, so I am hoping it will be useful to our parents and as many people as possible will attend. More info will follow.

Young Carers

Support for Young Carers is now being provided by a new Young Carers team within Hertfordshire County Council, following the end of the young carer contract with Carers in Hertfordshire.

This includes assessments, help with managing caring responsibilities, regular reviews, ensuring the voices of young carers inform the support they receive, and support in preparing for adulthood.
The registration process for young carers is now via a new Young Carers webpage.  This new webpage has been developed in collaboration with young carers and their families and includes information about the support available, team contact details, and ‘a Day in the Life of’ form to register a young carer online so that they can get the support they need.
