This Week
What a wonderful welcome back we have had this week. The weather has been on our side and our field has been in use and the children have all been hard at work. I have spoken with the children this week about the classroom and playground equipment to order, from the money raised by the Junior FOTC and have made an order today. Once all the equipment comes in Sara Marshall and I will decide how we will divide it out - exciting times! As stated in Paragraph 4 below, Mr Roberts, from Ashlyns, will be joining us on the 19th May at 7pm for a parent talk on smart phones - please do save this date as it would be good to have lots of parents attend. I'd also like to take this opportunity to remind parents that if you shop in Woods Garden Centre for every £100 of receipts we receive (not including gift cards) TC get a £25 voucher to spend.
Worship
On Monday, Father Stuart led worship on John 20 1:18 and asked the children how Mary Magdalene would have been feeling when the tomb was empty, he also asked the children to spread kindness and show that kindness and helpfulness each day. Today South Africa led a wonder class assembly and shared all of their learning! Well done SA!

Friends of Thomas Coram

We are excited to let you know that the money raised from the JFoTC event has been spent on all the things the children requested and will be delivered very soon!

We will share the details out for the summer specular on the 13 June shortly. The event will include Berko's first junior Duathlon - with a running and cycling course for the children to compete alongside the usual summer fun!

Are you a whizz with a sewing machine? Can you create an outfit out of nothing? We're on the lookout for some crafters to come together to start creating some wonderful things for future events. Please email gilldrought@friendsoftc.co.uk to get involved!

 Important Information

Year 4 Times Table Event

We would like to invite parents in on Wednesday 22nd April from 08:35 - 09:10 or 03:00 - 03:25, to come and do times tables with your child and then hear from the teachers about a key learning element of times tables. This is to help ensure the children are ready for the Multiplication Check in June. You only need to attend one session, in the morning or in the afternoon, not both.

Eco Council - Name that Bin Lorry!
The Eco team met to talk about an initiative from Dacorum county council.
DCC are inviting primary schools to give fun and creative ideas to name 25 bin lorries.
This is a great opportunity to inspire creativity, support environmental awareness, and give pupils a chance to see their idea become part of the local community.
Please can suggestions be given to your Eco team member or Mrs Giles by Wednesday 22nd April.

Save the date - Smart Phone Free Talk and Q and A session

Mr Roberts, Assistant Head at Ashlyns, will be coming to TC on Tuesday 19th May, to do a workshop with Year 5 in the day alongside some Ashlyns students about smart phone useage. He will then come back to TC at 7pm, to do a parent workshop on children being smart phone free and the barriers and dangers smart phones entail. There will also be time for a Q and A during this session. The session will be around 60 - 90 minutes long. He has already done this in Bridgewater and Greenway and it was a big success, so I am hoping it will be useful to our parents and as many people as possible will attend. More info will follow.

Captains Club

After School Club Administrator Kimberley Allen will be available in school on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st of April if you have any queries or last minute bookings for After School club.
