This Week
Wow what a busy week we have had!!! We had the Cross Country event on Saturday and did amazingly well with 10 medals across the teams and an incredible gold medal for Eva in Year 5! Well done to all who participated. On Sunday, I was blown away by the Junior Friends of Thomas Coram and the amazing effort they put into the stalls! Well done to all the children who ran a stall and created the items that were on sale! It was a great experience and we raised over £2000 which is incredible, so thank you to everyone who came and supported! What a great community we are! Then on to our Mary Poppins show this week! I say this every year, but each year they get better and better! We are so fortunate to be able to offer this to our children and the children were so amazing on all three nights! The amount of time and effort they have put in is mind blowing and the show was as good as the West End productions! They are so confident and have developed friendships that they would not have had, if this club was not offered. Of course, none of it could be possible, if it wasn't for our incredible Production Club leaders: Mrs Randall, Miss Minter and Mrs Thomson. The amount of hours they have dedicated to this show is frightening - thank you so much for all you have done! A huge thank you to all of the staff at Team TC, as I look around and think about the term we have had, it has been busy, but our staff are always there for the children and putting in 100% effort and I really am so lucky to lead such an amazing school. The community we have built over the last few years is wonderful! We have said a sad goodbye to Mrs Nield this week as she embarks on her freedom of retirement and we wish her all the best and thank her for everything she has done, you will be very much missed, but I know you will enjoy your trip to South Africa once we are all back at school! Miss Ashby is also embarking on a new beginning and is getting married at the weekend so we want to wish her and Fraser, the best of luck from Team TC and a life time of happiness. I would also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to be careful and vigilant at drop off and pick. There was a collision near school yesterday with thankfully no serious injuries but it highlights that you really need to check all ways before crossing the road. I hope everyone has a restful and peaceful Easter and I look forward to seeing you all again on Monday 13th April!

⭐️Thank you ⭐️

Thank you to everyone who came to the first JFoTC event on Sunday. The kids did an incredible job and smashed their target raising over £2000.

It means every child will get a new school whiteboard, we can buy 60 new balls, skipping ropes, bats, pens, markers and glue sticks. Lots and lots of glue sticks.

🗓️Save the date 🗓️

We'll be sorting out the next JFoTC Squads over Easter and getting more of the children involved when we get back, please put 13 June in your diary for our summer event - more detail to come soon 🏅

 Important Information

Year 4 Times Table Event

We would like to invite parents in on Wednesday 22nd April from 08:35 - 09:10 or 03:00 - 03:25, to come and do times tables with your child and then hear from the teachers about a key learning element of times tables. This is to help ensure the children are ready for the Multiplication Check in June. You only need to attend one session, in the morning or in the afternoon, not both.

Production Club
A huge thank you to everyone that has come and supported the children this week. We are sure that you were as wowed by their performances as we were! Club has now fished for the academic year and will be back in September 2026.
Mrs Randall and Miss Minter are exploring the idea of offering a weeks summer camp over the holidays. It would be Monday - Friday, 9am - 3pm and there would be a small showcase on Friday afternoon for family and friends. There would be charge for the week but no costumes, tickets or other costs would be required. This would still be available to current Year 6 pupils as they remain on roll until 31 August 2026.
Kindness Ambassadors Easter Challenge!
The Kindness Ambassadors would love for you to complete the Easter Kindness Challenge over the holidays. A chance to perform 15 acts of kindness ❤️ to family, friends and yourself!

If you want to add any details about your challenges that would be great - do so on the sheet or a separate piece of paper ... or just simply tick them off as you complete them.

The Kindness Ambassadors will be collecting any entries in the first week back after the break and we will post them all off all together as there are a couple of prizes for lucky entries!

SEND Provision Plan Consultation - Now live 23 March to 15 June 2026

The Hertfordshire SEND Local Area Partnership has developed a SEND Provision Plan 2026-29 which supports the delivery of the newSEND Strategy for 2026–2029.  The strategy sets out our shared ambitions to improve outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

More children and young people in Hertfordshire are requiring additional support at school, many presenting with increasingly more complex needs than in the past. Families have consistently told us they want clearer pathways and better local options. In response, this Special Education, Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Provision Plan outlines how we will strengthen support in local schools, increase specialist provision where it is needed, and ensure every child receives the right help, in the right place, at the right time.

Feedback gathered so far has helped identify key priorities and has informed the five core elements of the draft SEND Provision Plan:

  • Strengthen capacity in mainstream schools
  • Expand specialist capacity in mainstream schools
  • Create more special school places
  • Update special school designations
  • Child centred placements

As part of the SEND Provision Consultation running from 23 March to 15 June 2026, we are seeking your views on whether the plan reflects your priorities, and how it can be further strengthened before it is finalised.

You can share your feedback by completing a  short survey or by attending one of our consultation events. All details on how to get involved are available on the Local Offer: www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/SENDProvisionPlan

Thank you for your time, your views are important to us. All responses will be carefully considered and will directly influence the final SEND Provision Plan for 2026–2029.

Easter Discovery Trail on Good Friday 3rd April at Rectory Lane Cemetery
This is a lovely event, with volunteer guides to help the children and a beautifully illustrated cluecard for them to follow.  They learn different facts about the Cemetery and on completion win a chocolate Easter egg. There will be refreshments and seating too, so the whole family can enjoy the event.

It is a fundraiser to help us to sustain and manage the space for the community, so is not free but the tickets are reasonably priced (free for adults and children under three), particularly if they take advantage of the Early Chick tickets!

Easter at Discover Bucks Museum
This Easter, we’re bursting with things to see, make and explore including the launch of our major new SAXONS exhibition opening with a big Family Opening Day on Saturday 28 March. The first week of the holidays is packed with Easter-themed craft and science family fun, while the second week takes inspiration from the Saxons, with Saxon-themed crafts linked to the new exhibition. Plus don’t forget to play, learn and explore in the Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery.
