Resilience quote of the week:  “I tried and failed. I tried again and again and succeeded.”
This week at Thomas Coram
Thank you to all of the parents who attended parents evening this week, it is always so wonderful to see so many parents in attendance! For once, we have had a relatively quiet week and the children have been happily learning in their classes and focussing hard. This week every class in the school has participated in a live lesson which was linked to the British Science week theme of 'change and adapt'. It was a great opportunity to learn about some of the features of reptiles and their habitats, completing activities and listening to new facts. On Tuesday, we did have Greig in from the Kindness Ambassadors who did a workshop with the whole school. The children absolutely loved this and it was great to think about kindness as a whole school and how we can ensure we are all kind to one another. Mrs Giles is keen to have more opportunities for the pupils to learn about careers in Science, if you work in a science field and are able to come into the school to speak to a year group please do get in touch with the office.  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
Worship
On Monday, Rebecca came in for worship to discuss to the story of Jesus the Provider and the children thought about how they can share and help others. In Singing Assembly this week, we listened to the 'Sugar Plum Fairy' and traced the music with our fingers. Harley then sang on the stage an emotional song, showing spirit and talent. We all then sang 'Every move I make, I make for you Lord Jesus.' We ended by our first attempt at 'Dynamite' by Taio Cruz before we will sing this in a round next week. If there are any other parents that would like to either play an instrument or sing please email or speak to Mrs Bruguier. Today we celebrated our Stars of the Week.
