Oracy  Homework

What biscuit would you be and why?

This week
On Monday, Sara came in to talk to the children about Junior FOTC and we have been blown away by all the applicants! I spoke to Year 4 and 5 this week about truthfulness and will do so with Year 3 and 6 next week. We discussed how it is easy sometimes for things to become elaborated and sometimes we might feel worried about telling the truth, but actually telling the truth makes it easier for everyone and things can then be dealt with accordingly. In light of this, I have had a few local residents this week contact me to say children from TC are knocking on doors and then running away, if your child walks to and from school alone, please can you discuss with them that this should not be happening. Mrs Munro and I are embarking on an oracy project for the school and were on a training course this week, the first question we were asked was "What biscuit would we be and why?" - we said a Jammie Dodger, as it is sweet and tasty with a jam filled middle that represents the heart of our school. Have a chat over the weekend as a family about which biscuits you would all be. Please do encourage the children to come and tell me on the gate on Monday! Well done to China for their fabulous assembly today, it was brilliant! Have a great weekend!
