At Thomas Coram, we believe that art provides our children with opportunities to develop and extend skills and an opportunity to express their individual interests, thoughts and ideas. At Thomas Coram we are fortunate enough to have a dedicated Art room, which enables us to use a wide variety of materials during our art lessons. Art is regularly interwoven into other subjects.

We teach Art through a variety of teaching led plans and the curriculum is well structured for progression between in year group. As pupils progress through our school, we aim to offer them opportunities to think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of art. They are also taught how art both reflects and shapes our history, and contributes to the culture, creativity and wealth of our nation.

Year 6 will complete the 'Famous Fashion' unit in Spring 2 and focus on Design & Technology for Summer Term.
